Cotter pins are also called "split pins". They are used in conjunction with clevis pins, and drilled bolts or nuts to create a locking device. They are available as hammer lock point although the extended square cut is the preferred style. The pin ends shall be of closed prong style. They are available from stock in steel but may be ordered in non magnetic 302 or 304 stainless steel, 260 alloy brass and monel alloy. Cotter pins can be furnished either plain or plated as required.
