Indented Hex / Washer head screws are available with and without slots. The combination of a slotted indented hex/washer head is convenient especially for consumer assembled products since either a wrench or slotted screwdriver may be used for assembly.

The indented head style screw is also available with or without a washer base. This style hex head is ideal for high volume production assemblies where power-driving tools are used. The washer base is formed directly onto the head of the screw eliminating the need to inventory multiple pieces. Production increases as the loose washer no longer needs to be slipped onto the screw base.

Indented hex head screws can be used as an option to a more costly trimmed hex head screw. They are available as threadforming, thread-cutting, and machine screw threads. Indented hex heads are easily cold formed and do not require a secondary trimming operation thereby saving on fastener manufacturing costs and ultimately keeping your cost lower.
